Using Maestro RR or RR2 on 2016 Kia Sorento with UVO

I'm considering replacing the head unit in my 2016 Kia Sorento. The factory radio does not have navigation and does not have an amplifier, but it does have UVO. When looking at the Maestro RR and RR2 options for my car on the iDatalink website, it says neither of the Kia/Hyundai harnesses (HRN-HRR-HK1 or HRN-RR-HK1) work with the 2016 Sorento without amp but with UVO (though it does work on the radio without amp, without nav, and without UVO). Is this merely because the wiring harness plug in my car does not match, or is it more than that? If I buy this and hard-wire the Maestro harness to my car's wiring using the proper pinouts compared to the plug without UVO, will the Maestro work as expected?
