AR w/ Nove

Post by hergy916 » Thu Jun 28, 2018 8:29 pm

Trying to get a Bit Nove to work with the AR module in a 2017 Ram 3500 and cannot get the Nove to retain the output channel configuration once the AR firmware is installed. If I flash the Nove back to the current non AR firmware, I can set the output channels any way I want but as soon as I change it to the AR firmware, it will not write the changes to Nove and actually will disconnect the Nove from the Bit software and then I have to reconnect it. I've been on and off the phone with Elettromedia multiple times today as well as last week and at this point they are convinced it is an issue with the AR firmware.

Any ideas??? This project is already a week behind schedule and client is getting impatient.

Are we referring to output channel assignment (i.e. channel 1 FL Tweeter Channel 2 FR Tweeter, etc) or are we talking about DSP settings (i.e. X-over, EQ, Time Alignment)?

It's the ADS specific firmware. V1.0.0.0

ok, so lets be sure that we are executing the directions as outlined in the PDF guide here
http://www.audison.eu/support/idatalink-maestro-ar/

Once we have everything updated both on the AR and the bitNove we can start the configuration process. click on Device in the tool bar and expand synchronize. once you complete the that step you will need to select Finalize Device. once completed you should get some sort of confirmation and be ready to go.

I've done plenty of Bit processors and am very familiar with the process. I can make ever other change to the Nove (EQ, Cross overs, Time correction, etc.) but I cannot get it to save the channel configuration. I can get into the option, select my channels and even assign them the way I want. The Nove software shows me that it is loading my settings and then it will pause, disconnect from the Nove (shows offline mode), then reconnect to the Nove and ask if I would like to read or write to/from the unit. After that, the channels are back to factory settings.

Is anyone still available for a phone call? I've been working on this a really long time and running out of options.

Maybe I should verify. I can make and save all other functions (EQ, cross overs, etc.) just not output channel configuration.

OK. So, Friday after not being able to come up with a solution, EM told me I may just have to go old school and reconnect the factory amp in this Ram or actually use another product. This just didn't seem right and my Spidey senses were tingling. Everything was working but this little detail so I decided to just start trying random things and finally found that if I changed my input from Master to Optical and then ran the channel configuration, I could get it to work. It would even change back to Master on its own after writing the changes to the Bit. I tried this several times and even with two different processors and it worked every time. I don't believe this is correct and hopefully it can still get corrected. Just wish it hadn't taken a week to figure something out.

I've been working with Lance at EM tech support so he is up to speed on everything to this point.

I actually got the system up and playing Monday but noticed the option to control the Nove presets from the OEM radio doesn't work and the option to control subwoofer volume from the bass adjustment in the OEM radio doesn't work either. I'm hoping I'm just missing something in the programming but this could be another big issue since the AR plugs into the Nove DRC port.
