2018 Tundra JBL

Post by csmashe » Thu Jan 18, 2018 10:40 am

I have a 2018 tundra that was a jbl system but it has been totally replaced.
Now its a kenwood dnx994s using the maestro rr with the TO2 hooked directly into amps that are hooked to the speakers. No factory amp.

I had it installed and have a couple questions.

Another guy has the same exact set up but in his heads up display he still has the compass and the audio screen which shows the current song and source. Mine is blank. We could not figure out what was different in the 2 set ups. Any idea how i get that back.

Also on your website it says i should have the parking assist screen for my radio which would show the distance to the object. It is grayed out on the radio. How do i get this to activate?

Thanks for your help

I talked to the shop yesterday and the only logical reason that would make sense is that your radios have different firmware versions on them.

If it's grayed out, it's possible that either the shop un-checked it during the flash, or the RR isn't detecting that you have parking assist. There is a diagnostics menu in the OEM Setup section of the radio. This will tell you if we're detecting your parking assist system or not, as well as whether or not they chose to retain it in the flash.

It was chosen during the flash. I watched it done. It is not being recognized for some reason. Everything else works

Upon further R&D investigation, we concluded that the parking assist is analog in this vehicle- because its information is not sent on the truck's data lines, we are unable to support parking assist in the Tundra. Sorry for the mis-information.
