2011 Grand Cherokee and Pioneer AVH-2300NEX

Post by aprachar » Tue Nov 07, 2017 3:51 pm

Hi I'm hoping someone can help me figure this out. Doing an install of a Pioneer AVH-2300NEX in my 2011 Grand Cherokee, with steering wheel controls, phone button on the steering wheel. I have my RR, my CH1 Harness, and my AVCH1 for my rear camera.

My problem is when I initially connect everything, I turn on the stereo and everything is working properly. Sounds great, zero complaints.

When I turn off the car, exit (opening the door powers down the radio) go back to the car and turn it on, I have zero audio coming from the front speakers. Only the rear.

What could possibly be causing an issue like this?

Does your vehicle have an OEM amplifier?

I thought it did. I have 8 speakers plus a sub. But when I had the harness green/green white/white I had zero sound except for the tiny center channel dash speaker, and there was barely any audio bleeding through that When I flipped them to green/white green/white I had audio.

When you're looking at main harness diagram to determine if you have an amplifier or not, are you looking at where the wires enter the clip or are you looking at the pins?

Wire side. You will either have all 4 channels (8 speaker wires total) or 2 channels (4 wires). If you have 8 wires, there is no amp.

I edited the flash changing it to reflect not having an amplifier, also ditched retaining uConnect and installed the Pioneer microphone to handle voice commands. Put everything back together, and I have zero audio. The only way I can get anything to play at all is to go into OEM settings, and change it to "Retain Factory Amplifier" No idea what's going on now.

OK I figured this all out, I had to do a factory reset on the Pioneer, it had been set to network speakers. Switched it to Standard and everything is absolutely perfect, couldn't be happier with the Maestro products!
