2011 Grand Cherokee Audio Cable Question Pioneer AVH-2300 NEX

Post by aprachar » Sun Nov 05, 2017 11:32 pm

Hi I'm hoping someone can help me figure this out. Doing an install of a Pioneer AVH-2300NEX in my 2011 Grand Cherokee, with steering wheel controls, phone button on the steering wheel. I have my RR, my CH1 Harness, and my AVCH1 for my rear camera. I have two audio cables, I think 1 came with the RR and 1 came with the CH1. One is just an audio cable, it ends in a black clip that goes to the RR. This one is labeled Audio Cable in the ADS-RR(SR)-CHR01-DS-IG install guide. The other is an audio cable and a blue wire with a green or yellow stripe, that ends in a blue clip to go into the RR. This is labeled "Steering Wheel Controls" in the ADS-RR(SR)-CHR01-AS-IG guide.

My question is, which one am I supposed to use, or is it both? I have an aux input and a wired remote control input in the back of the unit. And if it is both, is the Blue/Green wire used and if so where?

Trying to get this right on the first shot! Thanks!

You will NOT use the blue plug in your install type. You will use the all black, 3-pin to 3.5mm cable, and it will plug into AUX on the pioneer.
