2014 Wrangler Connections ?

Post by Hudler » Mon Jul 03, 2017 12:18 pm

HI, I have a 2014 Wrangler with the upgraded Alpine sound.
I am installing a Kenwood DDX774BH radio and new amp.
Everything seems straight forward and I just want to confirm a couple of connections.
1. Audio cable. Wiring diagram shows to use the audio cable WITHOUT the Blue/yellow wire. My new headunit harness has a blue/yellow wire. Just confirming I do NOT have to make this connection.

2. The wiring diagram also shows a brown wire coming from the CH-1 harness that is not connected. My new headunit harness has a brown wire for a mute function. Just confirming I do NOT have to make this connection.

1.Those are two different cables. The blue plug will NOT be used. The audio cable is all black, with a 3-pin black connector on one end, and a 3.5mm on the other end.
2. Do NOT hook up the brown wire.

HI, I have a 2014 Wrangler with the upgraded Alpine sound.
I am installing a Kenwood DDX774BH radio and new amp.
Install is complete, but I have no sound.
Blue/WT amp turn on wire from new amp, plus the CH! harness and new headunit harness are all hooked together.
The Maestro was flashed with the factory amp option deleted.
The Kenwood radio detected a factory amp and wanted me to confirm that factory amp option was deleted. I confirmed factory amp deleted.
The plugs on the maestro harness had white plug to white plug and I think Black to black. I left them that way as the wiring instructions confirmed.
I haven't tried to diagnose the problem yet, but if you have any sugestions let me know.
Everything else seems to work perfect, steering controls etc function normal.
Thanks!

During the flash, you indicated that you do NOT want to keep the OEM amp. Because that is the option you chose, we will not turn it on, and you will have no sound.

If you completely bypassed the OEM amp and still have no sound, then you wired your new amp incorrectly.

Ok I checked it out a bit further.the aftermatket amp is turning on and I have sound from the sub. Rca cables from the amp to the new Headunit are hooked up correctly. Speaker wire ran from amp to Ch1 harness speaker wires.
Any other ideas? I disabled uconnect and the oem amp when I flashed the maestro.

It sounds like you didn't wire your speakers correctly. You need to run the outputs of the amp to each speaker.
