2016 jeep wrangler pioneer 8200nex

Post by mpittman » Tue May 09, 2017 11:05 pm

Hello, I installed a pioneer 8200nex radio a few days about along with the ch1 harness and rr module and i'm having a few issues im hoping somebody can help me with. First randomly the carplay disconnects and restarts, this could be an issue with trying to retain the center console usb possibly and i'm going to take everything apart and switch usb1 on the back of the radio to a lighting cable and route it through the glovebox until I see if it works as a temp solution for the time being. The second issue is sometimes when I'm trying to switch songs via the buttons on the back of my steering wheel it doesn't work and it seems random and only after i'd say like ten or so minutes after I start driving, the entire left side for track up or down seems dead until I power cycle the radio and then it works. the volume always works so i'm thinking it has something to do with the rr maybe not translating the signal properly, And third the obd2 port seems to get tire pressure fine along with voltage but none of the gauges work and it says the obd2 port isn't connected or the ignition is off. Any ideas on where to look or what to do?

You cannot do carplay through the uConnect USB - CarPlay cables need to be connected directly to the radio.

Do you have anything connected into the W/R of the radio? If so, disconnect it.

Reset your RR. This can be done in the OEM settings in the radio menus (under maestro module setup).

probably should have specified I disconnect the usb from the uconnect module and connected it to the back of the radio with the adaptor so I could run carplay through the center console usb. but I reset the maestro through the radio and everything seems to be working fine except I have to wait to connect my iPhone to the radio until it gets to the home screen because if I either plug my phone in or start driving before it gets to the warning the screen it just go's black and I have to pop it into neutral at a light or stop sign and restart the jeep and that seems to do the trick. And I know the radio has power because the illuminated buttons are still on just not the screen.

If everything else is working except for CarPlay, then you're good to go. The CarPlay feature is completely unrelated to the Maestro, so you would need to contact Pioneer about any odd behavior.
