2010 Ram stereo staying on

Post by HiTiKoRi » Fri May 06, 2016 10:18 am

Hello,

I have a 2010 Ram with a Kenwood DDX470 installed along with a RR unit and CH01 harness.
Everything works as it should until on occasion the radio will not turn off after the key is removed and door is opened. I have already ruled out the door switch/latch system as it tests all good and all dash indicators and lights work as they should. I have reflashed the unit to the newest firmware and still same symptoms occur.
Also when it does occur the steering wheel controls go dead. Neither side or any function will work from the steering wheel controls, but all functions work as they should from the head unit.
I haven't tried a new RR unit, as this is the first time I've run into an issue with these products. The problem is not consistent either, it may go two weeks with working correctly and it may act up every day.
Any ideas or has anyone else run into this?

That issue isn't terribly common...It could be that the relay is staying latched. When this happens, how do you fix it? Have you tried resetting the RR?

I have reset the unit.
It actually did it this morning for me and on the third or forth time starting the vehicle, it went back to normal operation.
I think I have all the bases covered ( that I can think of ) and will try a new RR unit and report my findings.
Thanks for the reply
