2007.5 Silverado 1500 XM Radio Problems

Post by mikewohlwend » Thu Jan 04, 2018 10:45 am

Last night I installed a new radio (Kenwood DDX374BT) into my truck. I used the GM5+ and Maestro RR for this. I am pretty sure everything except the XM is working right now. When I switch to XM it shows the station, but there's no sound.

Is there a separate wire needed for the XM? I saw the HRN-ANT-SAT1 at Best Buy, but didn't know if I needed it.

It sounds like your audio cable is either not plugged in, or it's plugged into the wrong port. It should be the all black 3-pin to 3.5mm cable- make sure it's plugged in where it says "iDatalink I/F".

I will have to double check what I have hooked where. I know I have a plug in the left side of the oval.

You need to make sure the audio cable is plugged in, into the headphone jack the right side of the oval.

I will check. I can't remember if I plugged anything into that spot or not.

Just wanting to make sure before I pull this apart.

Do I need something plugged into both of the spots in the oval, or just the headphone jack?

Both of those connections need to be plugged in.

Finally got around to checking today. I had the blue plugged cable hooked into that spot. Not really sure what it's even for.

Not when I go to XM it gives me the message "SXM Check Tuner" which according to my radio manual is, make sure the SiriusXM Connect Vehicle Tuner is connected to the tuner. I jewlver got this message before switching the plugs.

Also if I go under the OEM section of the radio XM comes up but only the preview channel.

You don't have it connected properly. The blue plug should not be used. The audio cable is the one next to the blue port on the maestro, the all black 3-pin connector.

I originally had the blue plugged in that spot. Switched it before my last post. What does the blue one even go to?

Here's pics of the setup now. Still says check XM tuner. But if I go to the vehicle features XM comes up and I can change channels. There's no sound though.
