Install without module

Post by Nate3531 » Sun Dec 17, 2017 6:51 pm

is it possible to use the HRN-RR-GM5+ to install an aftermarket JVC stereo in my 2011 Chevy Avalanche without using the Maestro module? I plan to purchase and add it later, but just want to get the stereo installed now to run my aftermarket amp and sub. I would want to keep the factory Bose amp in line with the door speakers and could care less about the factory subwoofer.

No. The maestro module is responsible for turning the radio on, so it is required for our solution to work.

I can give the aftermarket head unit switched accessory 12+ to turn it on.

Nothing will work. You will not have steering wheel controls, or any outputs for your reverse, parking brake, etc. If you wish to proceed, do so at your own risk.
