DNX893S 2012 suburban w/o navigation Turn Signal Sounds

Post by 30harry » Mon Oct 30, 2017 2:26 am

I don't have any sounds when the turn signals are on. I have the menu item to adjust volume but I get no sound. All other sounds/chimes seem to be working as they should. What is the usual cause of this? I'm fairly certain it is something I didn't do during the installation/setup. :)

thanks,

Harry

What is your turn signal reminder set to in that menu- click in speaker, or chime if left on?

Chime if left on will NOT allow the turn signals to click. It will only give you a reminder chime if you're driving with your turn signal on for an extended period of time. Make sure it's set to "click in speaker".

Thank you Dara,

That fixed the problem.

The menu for this feature should probably be revised in a future firmware update.

OEM operation is to click on turn signal and chime if left on for extended period. The clicks work now and if left on for a long time then the small screen on the dashboard shows "Turn Signal still on" and it chimes. The menu should reflect this. Right now, if the turn signal is left on for an extended period, the chime will still sound regardless of whether the menu item for "chime reminder" is selected or not.

Default for the menu should probably be "click on speaker" and the other selection shouldn't even be there because the reminder chimes due to the OEM feature regardless of the RR menu setting???

Thanks again for your help and I am really impressed with the RR and the entire installation kit. This makes adding an aftermarket radio to newer vehicles extremely easy.
