'07 Escalade and Factory Bluetooth

Post by yates367 » Fri Feb 03, 2017 10:50 pm

I have an '07 Escalade that has an upgraded VCIM and contains factory phone Bluetooth. This allows for the phone to connect, shows connected and even ringing/answered on the radio screen. But there is no sound and the person can not hear me.

I have a Pioneer AVH-5700BHS. I am using all 3 modules to retain the factory Rear Seat Controls, rear DVD, backup camera, Steering wheel controls (which at first test, didn't seem to function) and currently the factory amps for now. I have not installed the unit completely yet.

I re-flashed with an '08 model and plan to retest it this way to see if it makes a difference for the Bluetooth since that's when factory Bluetooth actually came out.

Any other suggestions on how this is to be tied in? Also, I thought the chart for my vehicle showed I could see some factory information but it's mostly blocked out except for the factory amp controls, and XM Satellite controls. Am I mistaken on being able to see any vehicle information? If so, what is the purpose of the plug for the OBD port then?.

Thank you

This radio does not support vehicle information. The only thing you will see on this radio is OEM Satellite.

The OEM bluetooth exists independently of the radio. You don't have to flash it any special way for it to work; it should just continue to function after the radio is removed. There won't be any settings menu in the radio for it. If you want to pair to it, you just launch OnStar bluetooth voice commands and that should start the process.

Make sure that the audio cable that goes between the radio and the maestro is plugged into AUX. You will likely not be able to hear the person on the phone if it's not.

I did get the Bluetooth to work using the 2008 flash, as 2007 did not have phone bluetooth.

The only issue I now have is the backup camera cuts out and doesn't work most of the time. I have even wiggled wires to see of there is a loose connection.

Didn't make a difference.

Any suggestions on this issue?

Is the camera OEM or aftermarket?

OEM camera. Never cut out or glitched with factory radio.

I bought all 3 harnesses to retain rear entertainment DVD and controls, backup camera and steering wheel controls.

Which brings me to another issue actually. The factory IR headphones don't play sound now and the rear controls don't work either.

If there's this many functionality problems, a forum isn't really the best place to troubleshoot. When you have a little time, give us a call when you have the radio out and we can troubleshoot and get it going.
