Brown harness and Pioneer AVH-X5700BHS

Post by rokrig » Sun Sep 13, 2015 7:51 pm

I'm installing this Pioneer headunit in my 2012 Sierra 3500 w/ Bose no navigation AND not the Denali. I'm confused about the use of the brown harness that has a white 'sub out', red 'center out' and yellow 'backup camera in'. I don't think my truck has a center channel. It has the back-up camera in the rear-view mirror and I believe the truck has a subwoofer in the center console.

Question: Do I use this harness? If yes, where does each of the white, red and yellow RCA connectors go in the back of the AVH-X5700BHS? See picture of head-unit connections.

You'd connect the corresponding plugs if you've got those features. The subwoofer rca goes to the input labeled "SW", backup camera won't be connected, and because the pioneer doesn't have a center channel out, you could connect it to one of the RCA outputs (perhaps either the front left, or front right).
