2008 Honda Pilot EX-L

Post by scottn3 » Fri Jan 06, 2017 1:08 pm

I would really like to know if it is possible to get the Maestro RR working on a 2008 Pilot when replacing the factory radio (non-Navi) with either a Pioneer NEX or a Kenwood DDX receiver. All I really want to get working is the steering wheel controls and the OBDII info - such as speed, RPM, fault codes, etc. Climate control would be a bonus but not necessary.
Does anyone know if this could work? It shows as compatible for the Element but not Pilot - but they are so similar in design.
Can I be a Beta tester?

Our coverage for steering wheel control and diagnostics in Honda starts at 2009 in the Pilot. The 2008 likely does not have the data on the specific data lines we look for, which is why we don't cover it. It is doubtful that we ever will if this year of Pilot doesn't conform to the universal data codes that we read.

Has it been tested?

I don't believe it has. When we're looking to cover a vehicle, we verify if it has the necessary wires at the OBD2 port. According to the schematic, your vehicle does not have the data lines we need to cover the gauges, so we did not pursue it further.
