2010 Jetta TDI - Couple Gauges Not Working

Post by Skylight62 » Mon Apr 02, 2018 11:32 am

I have a 2010 Jetta TDI most of the gauges work but there are a couple that show a - or 0 value. Just want to know if they are not supported or is there something that can be done to make them work. I have entered the fuel tank capacity at 14.5 gallons.

These ones do not seem to be working:
Distance to Empty
Average Fuel Economoy
Intake Air Temp

The below all work:
Air Fuel Ratio (AFR)
Battery Voltage (VOLTAGE)
Boost/Vacuum (BOOST/VAC)
Engine Coolant Temp (COOLANT)
Engine Load (LOAD)
Exhaust Gas Temp (EGT)
Fuel Level (FUEL)
Instantaneous Fuel Economy (INST MPG)
RPM (RPM)
Vehicle Speed (MPH)

There are also some other ones that I have not tried.

I also wanted to know if specific gauges can be set to English Vs Metric or if they all have to follow the same unit system. I would like to display the external tempurature in Celcius but keep the rest of the gauges in MPG etc.

I am using the Kenwood DNX994S.

Not all gauges will be displayed as it is dependent on the data being supplied on the databus lines at the OBD2. You can try performing the validation of the PID's within the Vehicle Settings to see if it reads anything else. But as far as which will and will not work we can not definitively tell you because it varies by vehicle. As for switching between metric and standard typically you can but again will vary whether or not the option is available. It's not defaulted to change all of them and when you select the gauge if available it will give you the ability to change the read out from metric to standard.
