rockingti wrote:Having some issues with the Maestro RR and 2014 VW Passat. I have the harness wired as described in the manual. Radio powers on , am/fm works, new sirius tuner works,cd works. Steering wheel controls work also.

Couple of issues I'm having

1. It shows my phone is connected to the factory bluetooth module. When I make a call the system interupts the audio and shows that I'm connected. I believe it shows the word "talking" on the Kenwood screen. The only problem is there is no audio from the phone call coming thru the speakers.

2. I have the system set up to use the factory mdi connection as well. When I go under "oem setting" and select "MDI" it switches to my ipod. The Kenwood screen shows the metadata from my ipod, the time counter is showing that the music is playing. But again, no sound from the ipod.

I've watched the video at the top of this link where it shows doing the initial "oem setup". This appears to only be on the Kenwood nav systems and not on the DDX series units.

Any suggestions??

Heres some information you might need.

Vehicle: 2014 VW Passat (wolfsburg edition)
vehicle has the base non touchscreen radio, and does not show songs or radio stations in the MFD. I'm not expecting the Maestro to make this work, just for information.

Radio: Kenwood DDX8901HD. I would like to use the factory bluetooth for phone calls, and retain the factory ipod adapter. I could live with having to instlal the kenwood mic and ipod adapter but really didn't want to.

I have tried using different years of the passat and re-flashing the maestro rr.

Any help would be appreciated!
Did you get squared away? Wanted to check to make sure you are all set.

Jason,

Will this Maestro RR firmware work on Audi TT mk2? It has extremely similar programming as the VW Golf Mk6 so wondering if any of the features would work?

No, there is no Audi support at this time.

At this point noting will work because it isn't supported.

What Murph means by this, is that we haven't done research on those vehicles or taken readings on them. While the harness does match some Audi vehicles, we can't be certain that the data going on behind the scenes is the same or that it will work.

Has anyone tested this on Audi (specifically TT mk2)? I see advertised everywhere that the VW1 + VW RR firmware works on VW and "some Audi models".

It hasn't been tested. We built the VW harness with the intention of covering Audi, but the coverage would have been very limited, so the Audi firmware didn't get made.

So I am currently testing with 2011 Audi TTS. I purchased the VW1 harness and Maestro RR. I have Alpint INE W957HD and got quite a few things to work. The harness works fine. All wires were plug and play. I loaded the 2014 Golf R firmware and selected all options except retain USB, Bluetooth and MDI. I selected SW, MFD, Gauges, Vehicle info, etc.

I was able to get the Gauges (once OBD2 can wires were connected), climate, door info etc to work!!! Obviously there are enough differences in the MFD (or DIS) and SW controls that both of those I could not get to work. I would love to help test this if ADS wishes to advance this further?

One question, do all of the variations of VW years and vehicles have similar SW and MFD coding? Reason I ask is I was going to load every combination of firmware to test but didn't want to spend days doing that if all the "behind the scenes" code is similar for these.....If there was one that was slightly different then I would test.

Please let me know!
thanks

We're not actively doing testing at this time, but we are considering doing limited audi coverage. Nothing is set in stone yet.

I know it's impossible to give an answer accurately but any indication of whether this will happen or is it just something you are thinking about? I am looking at the new Kenwood dnx893s for Audi TT and would like to know if I have greater than 50% chance that you guys will release a firmware for it
Thanks.

And that includes the MK 2 TT? Almost identical to A3.
