Weblink mobile without module?

Post by klarowe » Mon Nov 10, 2014 10:34 pm

I apologize if this has been asked and answered already, but I didn't see anything. Can you update / configure a remote start module without a data module like you can on a PC? I tried it today with an older 6200 and it didn't connect, but I wasn't sure if maybe it was just because that particular remote start was not up to date software wise. Thanks.

No you can not configure a starter without a current blade.

Is there any plan for adding that feature or is it way off in the distance? Just out of curiosity. Thanks!

Odds are they will not be reverse compatible just like trying to use an old blade. It needs the firmware on the blade to see the starter.

No biggie. I'll just keep a blade module with some random firmware loaded on it to use if needed. One more quick question, can the unit be programmed without removing the power (fuse) or is it just like on a PC where you have to either disconnect or pull the fuse first? Thanks for the help!

No, remove power so you don't damage the car or the module.
