Question about flashing Maestro while installed

Post by jpar » Sun Apr 30, 2017 7:26 pm

Hello. My question is, can the Maestro be flashed thru the radio while installed? My Kenwood 374bt has a USB cable hardwired to it and was wondering if it was possible or do I have to take apart my dashboard. I know from another post on here that I have to disconnect the battery. Any info is greatly appreciated. Thank you.

As stated in the other posts, the maestro cannot have any power to it from the vehicle, or the computer will not be able to detect it. If you disconnect the battery, it can be flashed in the car.

Thank you for the prompt response. I'm assuming then that I can't flash the module through the USB cable built into the radio while the battery is disconnected? I have to go directly to the module?

Correct. The radio's USB has nothing to do with the USB on the maestro.
