2008 Scion XD w/ Kenwood KMM-BT522HD

Post by GSALR » Sat Apr 07, 2018 8:02 pm

Hi, I'm having issues programing the press & hold functions for answering the phone to seek up, the hang up/reject to seek down, & the voice control to the mode button. The volume, seek, & mode buttons work normally, but doesn't work with the reprogramed functions for the press & hold. I was able to reflash the module to a KMM-BT518U specs to have the volume up press & hold to answer phone calls to work. I have wondering if you would have any recommendations on to troubleshoot. Thank you.

I just checked your flash and saw that your Vol Down long press is set as Mute on/Off and your Mode button long press is set to Source & Hang Up & Reject Call. Did you mean to set it that way when you re-flashed the SW?

The mute was set that way. I tried to set up the voice control button with the mode long press, but it didn't work. The only long press buttons that worked was the mute (vol down) & ans call (vol up). I tried to flash the ans call to the seek up long press, hang up to seek down long press, and voice control mode long press, but that was a no go. I used the KMM-BT522HD firmware at first, but the customer was adamant for an Ans Call button, so I used an older firmware off a KMM-BT518U instead to get the Ans Call (long press Vol Up) to work.

ok, so there are a couple things going on here:
The KMM-BT522HD has a Voice/Siri command however the KMM-BT518HD doesn't so that would explain why the 518 didn't work the voice command.
so this is how you have the last flash with the KMM-BT518HD:

Button Press Press & Hold
Volume Up Volume + Answer Call
Volume Down Volume - Mute On/Off
Track Up / Preset Up Track + Band (FM,SAT) & Folder +
Track Down / Preset Down Track - Band (AM) & Folder -
Mode/Power Source & Hang Up & Reject Call Source & Hang Up & Reject Call

So I would try the KMM-BT522HD (so you can have the voice feature) and flash like this:
Button Press Press & Hold
Volume Up Volume + N/A
Volume Down Volume - Mute On/Off
Track Up / Preset Up Track + Answer Call
Track Down / Preset Down Track - Source & Hang Up & Reject Call
Mode/Power Band ( FM, SAT) & Folder + Voice Or Siri

let me know if this works for you.
