2005 Lexus RX330 and SW Compatibility

Post by wmasmith » Sat May 13, 2017 2:06 pm

My daughter has an '05 Lexus RX330 base everything. I'm looking to put in my old DNX890HD in there and get a new head unit for my F150 once the new Kenwood models come out. The car supposedly has retained accessory power so the radio and windows etc work until the doors get opened or the timer runs out. On Crutchfield's site it says that I have to use the PAC SWI-CP2 to retain that. I would rather use the SW. I have the RR in both of my F150s and have had nothing but great luck and support from them. Does the SW support that or do I have to figure out another way of keeping it? I've looked at the specs for the SW and I'm either missing it or it isn't listed as being a feature. Can someone clarify that for me.

The SW does not control the power of the radio, so it doesn't have anything to do with the RAP feature of the car. The SW simply retains the steering wheel controls.

Thanks for the reply,
That's what I thought. It's not anything major just kind of odd that they would say that. I think they, Crutchfield, have gone downhill lately.
