Weblink - No Product Detected

Post by shaun37291 » Sat Oct 15, 2016 4:40 pm

Trouble getting the weblink to connect to Blade AL via ADS USB to update firmware, all new equipment and install out of the box, 1st time with this product line. I have gotten the "module not detected" and afterwards reinstalled USB drivers with the start menu install links as I have read. I believe I read everything on the forum and am completely stuck and awaiting a call when ADS opens for business hours. I do get a short LED flash blue light on the Blade cartridge and "No product detected, Please verify that your product is correctly connected to your PC via the USB/RS-232 cable." I double and triple checked wiring, the Firstech CM7000 appears to be responding in its minimal form with the remote. I am thinking the Blade cartridge is bad, I have tried a factory reset on it but it has never had software installed so it did not appear to do anything for the good of the cause. The blade cartridge just keeps flashing red lights since powering it up. Turning car to "on" does nothing. Only response is when I try reconnecting the weblink, it flashes blue for a split second, then back to red flashes. Any help would be appreciated
Shaun

If you plugged the flasher in before the weblink software was installer, Windows will install the wrong driver. To fix this, run the FTDI driver two times in the Automotive Data Solutions folder.

Tried this numerous times, on a total of 3 PCs, the most recent being win7 machine that i never plugged the usb in until after software install. After getting same response, When i did click the install FTDI driver, it popped up a black dos screen and installed driver, i tried reconnecting still no go. Hours spent reading this forum and trying everything.

If you are using Internet Explorer, the process is very easy. There are videos on our website to help you flash the product.

Don't plug the module into the computer until after the software is installed.

I installed the software before I hooked it up. I plug in the module after that and click "Flash your module", I get "Weblink updater plugin required". Well, I've already installed it! The led light never lights up either. Is this normal? I have the Meastro SW.

After you run the weblink software, there will be a pop up asking you to ALLOW the installation. The module should not be plugged into the computer until after the software is finished the installation process.
