Not able to install idatalink on Windows 10

Trying to install module for my buddy and cant get this to register the download that was for the weblink update.

everything on the browser is up to date. Active x is running but the down file that i run give me an error
have the most up to date .net framework loaded on the computer


installation incomplete

" The installer was interrupted before WebLinkActiveX could be installed. You need to restart the installer to try again"



how do you get this to work?

Make sure you are on Internet Explorer and not Edge. Other than that, the process is the same for windows 7, 8 or 10. In some cases if your computer is not up to date, you may get a net frame error. That can be fixed with this Microsoft service pack.

Just adding an FYI to this post.

.NET framework 2.0+ 3.5 is included on Windows 10. You have to enable it. To enable it, click on the Windows icon and in the type box enter "Windows feature". Choices will appear, choose Windows Features Enable/Disable control. In the control panel check .NET framework 3.5. Windows will automatically download any files it needs and sets up your computer. You will probably have to restart to get everything working right.

Fair warning though. Web Uplink is wonky on Windows 10. I have 2 PCs with Windows 10 and downloaded it to both PCs and both have issues.

My solution, I got ahold of a Windows 7 PC and installed it there and all is good.

As long as you are using Internet Explorer, Windows 10 should work fine. We have thousands of customers using 10. I myself have one computer running it.

i am getting an error that the cable isnt properly connected, i have the rr connected and the red light is on, what, ive uninstalled the weblink more than once.. what else can the issue be? im using windows 7 with explorer.
